Russell Brown has enjoyed the week. After his surprising win in the mile at the New Balance Grand Prix in Boston last weekend, the Oregon Track Club Elite member took a lot of phone calls from friends, answered lots of emails and did a few interviews. “It was on TV right before the Super Bowl, so I think a lot more people ended up seeing it,” Brown said. Brown ran 3:54.81 – lowering his PR by nearly a second – and appeared capable of running even faster as he kicked away from Nick Willis.
