OTC Elite Athletes To Travel The Globe To Compete

 

Eugene, Oregon – While many OTC Elite athletes are utilizing an altitude training base in Albuquerque, New Mexico, team members will be at several events around the country and globe chasing Indoor qualifying standards.

 

OTC Elite will be sending a large group of athletes to Seattle to compete at the Washington Invitational, which starts on Friday and concludes on Saturday (Jan. 29-30).  Competing in Seattle will be 2008 Olympian Billy Nelson in the 5,000 meters, Matt Scherer in the 400 meters, Mark Wieczorek and Tyler Mulder in the 800 meters and Ben True, Kevin Chelimo, John Jefferson and Shadrack Biwott in the 3,000 meters.

 

Sally Kipyego will be making her debut at the 103rd running of the world famous Millrose Games.  The Millrose Games will be held at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Friday, January 29th.  Kipyego will compete in the Women’s Mile.

 

Stephen Pifer will join Team USA at the Five Nations Match to be held on Saturday, January 30th in Glasgow, Scotland.  Pifer is set to be Team USA’s only entrant in the Men’s 3,000 meters.  The meet is a team competition between the USA, Great Britain, Sweeden, Germany and a Commonwealth team.
