OTC Elite Distance Runners Look To Qualify For The U.S. Cross Country Team - OTCelite.com

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – February 14, 2008

Eugene, Oregon – By:  Mark Rinker – OTCelite.com.  Oregon Track Club Elite team members will become harriers this weekend (February 16th) at the USA Cross Country Championships in San Diego, California.  The Championships will be held at Mission Bay Park beginning at 9:45 a.m. PST with the Women’s Masters 8K Championship race and concluding with the Men’s Open 12k Championship at 2:00 p.m. PST. 

Representing the OTC Elite men at the Championships will be an experienced contingent of cross country harriers.  Sean Graham brings his exceptional track credentials (13:23.50 5,000 PR) to cross country, however he was also is a former NCAA Southeast Region Cross Country Athlete of the Year (2001).  Max King returns to the USA Championships after having made the 2006 National Cross Country Team.  Louie Luchini showed a high aptitude for cross country earning three All-American honors in cross country while attending Stanford.  Lucas Meyer was All-Ivy multiple times in cross country while representing Yale.  Don Sage also has a wealth of experience at the USA Championships; he made the US National team in 2005.  2007 U.S. World Cross Country team member Cack Ferrell will represent the OTC Elite women as she makes a bid to once again earn a spot on the National Cross Country team.

OTC Elite team members will be competing for the chance to represent the United States at the IAAF World Cross Country Championships in Edinburgh, Scotland on March 30th.  The men’s team will also be looking to compete well as a group to secure a high finish in the team standings.
