FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – January 26, 2009 OTC Elite To Open 2009 Indoor Season At Washington Invitational Eugene, Oregon – The Oregon Track Club Elite is excited to open its 2009 season in Seattle this weekend (1/30-1/31) at the Washington Invitational, hosted by the University of Washington. The meet, which will be held at Washington's Dempsey Indoor Facility, will be the first chance for new OTC Elite Coach, Mark Rowland, to see his team compete outside of Eugene. The OTC Elite will be sending several athletes to open their seasons in Seattle in various events. In the 800 meters OTC Elite will be represented by 2005 USA Indoor 800 Champion, Kevin Hicks, and Matt Scherer, a former Pac-10 400 meter Champion while at Oregon. 2002 NCAA 1,500 meter Champion Don Sage will make his debut racing the mile while the 3,000 meters will feature Stephen Pifer, who is fresh off a 6th place finish at the Bermuda International 10k on January 17th.
