Kids storm Hayward Field at free youth clinicPublished by
By Curtis Anderson / TrackTown USA EUGENE, Ore. – Ten years ago, as a precocious 9-year-old from Gresham, Haley Crouser competed in the turbo-javelin at the USA Track & Field National Junior Olympics at Hayward Field. On Saturday, it was time to give back. Crouser, who went on to set the national high school record in the javelin with a mighty heave of 181 feet, 2 inches, is a true freshman on the Oregon women’s track and field team.
