The Longer You Go with Hassan Mead

EUGENE – “Even though I’ve known him for 10 years, I’ve only run one workout with him,” says Ben Blankenship. “He’s a one-stepper, let me tell you.”

And when you ask Hassan Mead about it, he just laughs. “He was pushing the buttons,” he says.

Mead, 23, is made for the spotlight. Six feet, two inches tall, he literally stands out among his peers, and he has a presence in an interview that matches his height. It’s obvious that his two Olympic trials appearances, nine All-American honors, and numerous NCAA top-ten finishes have made him confident speaking about his running.
