Wheating Speeds to Second in LondonPublished by
Former Duck star Andrew Wheating placed an exclamation mark at the end of his 2010 European tour with a second place finish and personal best, running 1:44.56 in the 800 meters Friday in London at the Aviva London Grand Prix. The
Norwich, Vt., native finished only a few steps behind World Indoor
Champion Abubakar Kaki who crossed the tape in 1:44.38. OTC Elite's Nick
Symmonds was third in 1:45.28. Wheating, who now competes for Nike¹s Oregon Track Club, has had a breakout summer with personal best performances in three of the four Diamond League competitions he has entered. He recorded personal bests of 1:44.56 (800m), 3:30.91 (1,500m) and 3:51.74 (mile). Friday's runner-up finish was also his best placing of the four Diamond League races.
