Eugene, Oregon – By: Mark Rinker – The Oregon Track Club Elite will head south to Carson, California this week to compete at the Adidas Track Classic at the Home Depot Center. The meet will take place over two days with the men’s 800 scheduled for Saturday night with the remainder of the schedule being on Sunday afternoon.

In the men’s 800 meters OTC Elite will be sending a strong contingent including Kevin Elliott, Brandon Shaw and Elliott Blount. All three athletes have personal bests under 1:46.5 in the 800. Shaw and Blount are also coming off strong performances at the Oregon Twilight meet last week, races that saw each athlete run under 1:47.5.

Nick Symmonds will run the men’s 1,500 meters at the Home Depot Center, the 2008 IAAF Indoor World Championships 800 meter finalist will run his second consecutive 1,500 race of the season. Will Leer will also race in the strong 1,500 field at the Track Classic. Leer will be looking to improve his personal best of 3:40.06 set at the USA Outdoor Championships last summer.
