OTC Elite's Symmonds and Leer to Represent USA at World Indoor ChampionshipsPublished by
FOR IMMEDAITE RELEASE – March 8th 2010 OTC Elite's Symmonds and Leer to Represent USA at World Championships Eugene, Oregon – The Oregon Track Club Elite’s Nick Symmonds and Will Leer will be in Doha, Qatar this weekend for the 8th IAAF World Indoor Championships. The Championships, which will be run in the Aspire Dome in Doha, will showcase the best athletes in the world. Symmonds and Leer qualified for World Indoor Championships by finishing in the top two at the recent USATF Indoor Championships in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Symmonds, who made the final at this event in 2008, is coming off of the best season of his career in 2009. He will compete in the 800 meters; a distance in which he is ranked in the world’s top ten. The first round of the Men’s 800 meters is on Friday, March 12th at 11:05am (Doha Local Time), with the semi-finals scheduled for Saturday, March 13th at 11:00AM (DLT) and the finals scheduled for Sunday, March 14th at 5:30pm (DLT). Leer, will be making his International debut for Team USA in Doha. Leer qualified for the event with his 2nd place finish in the Men’s 1,500 meters at the USATF Indoor Championships. The first round of the Men’s 1,500 meters is on Friday, March 12th at 3:45pm (DLT) and the finals are scheduled for Saturday, March 13th at 5:30pm (DLT).
