Blood joined OTC Elite in the fall of 2010 after a storied career at the University of Oregon.
College: Blood was a nine-time All-American and a three-time Academic All-American at the University of Oregon. She holds the Oregon school record in the indoor 5k (15:51.59) and won four Pac-10 Championships during her career: two at 5,000 meters, one at 10,000 meters, and one in cross country. Blood recorded a pair of career top-10 finishes at the NCAA Cross Country Championships and she was a 2008 U.S. Olympic Team Trials competitor and a 2010 USA Track & Field Championships qualifier. … In 2010, Blood capped off her Oregon career with a third-place finish in the 10,000 meters at the NCAA Championships, setting a PR of 33:22.62. During the 2010 indoor season, Blood finished fifth in the 3,000 only 24 hours after taking a nasty fall in the 5,000, helping the Ducks to their first NCAA Indoor team title. … In 2009, she won the NCAA West Regional Championship in the 5,000 meters and was a runner up at the NCAA Championships.
High School: A Saratoga Springs, New York native, Blood starred on the East Coast, before making her mark on the West Coast as a senior at Royal High School in Simi Valley, Calif. She placed 39th (21:28) at the 2006 World Junior Cross Country Championships and placed second in the Pan-American Junior Championships at 5,000 meters, after winning the 2005 USA Junior Championships in that same event. … In cross country, Blood won three Foot Locker Northeast Regional titles in addition to three straight New York state titles her freshman, sophomore and junior seasons. In track, she led the nation as a junior in the 3,000 meters (9:29.44) and the 5,000 meters (16:30.90); and she won New York state titles in the 3,000 meters in 2003 (9:46.18) and in 2004 (9:24.03).
Personal: Born on April 25, 1988 to parents Jerry and Jill, Blood has two younger brother Matthew and Jerrod. She graduated from Oregon in 2010 with a degree in News/Editorial Journalism.
