Feyisa Lelisa Reunites With Family at Miami AirportPublished by
Olympic silver medalist reunites with family Feyisa Lilesa, who ran to the silver medal in the marathon at the Rio de Janiero Olympic Games in August and crossed his wrists over his head to protest the Ethiopian government's treatment of his Oromo people, greeted his family coming off a plane Tuesday in Miami, Fla. Lilesa spent the past six months in the U.S., unable to go home without fear for his safety after his protesting gesture before the world's eyes. Months of working with the U.S. consulate at the embassy in Addis Ababa apparently paid off. Read Lilesa's statement on Facebook for more.
