OTC Elite Set To Race USATF Club Cross Country Nationals

Eugene, Oregon – By:  Mark Rinker.  The Oregon Track Club Elite will travel to Spokane, Washington this weekend to race in the 10th edition of the USATF sponsored Club Championships on Saturday, December 13th.   The Club Championships will be the first major competition of the 2008-2009 campaign for OTC Elite.  The race will be 10 kilometers and will be run at the Plantes Ferry Recreation Park in Spokane; it is scheduled to begin at 1:30 pm (PST).

The Club Championships will be the first chance for a couple OTC rookies to compete on the national stage for OTC Elite.  Rookies Stephen Pifer and Russell Brown, who got their first taste of cross country this fall finished 1st and 2nd respectively at the Oregon Association XC Championship in Sandy on November, 15th.

There will also be several veterans carrying the OTC banner in Spokane.  Louie Luchini, fresh off his Thanksgiving Day win at the Run To Feed The Hungry 10k in Sacramento, California will toe the line along with other OTC veterans Tom Brooks, Don Sage and Will Leer.
